Hyderabad's Commissioner AV Ranganathan has confirmed that action will be taken against Tollywood actor Nagarjuna's convention hall, located in Madhapur, due to its alleged illegal construction. The commissioner's statement follows the release of a report by the National Remote Sensing Center documenting the encroachment of ponds in Hyderabad over the past 44 years.

The report, prepared using satellite imagery, reveals the extent of the encroachment of 56 ponds, providing crucial information for the Hyderabad Disaster Response Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA). Based on this data, HYDRA is prepared to take action against those responsible for the encroachments.

Nagarjuna's convention hall, built on the site of the Tummidikunta pond, has been a point of controversy for years. Ten years ago, the then KCR government took steps to address illegal constructions in Hyderabad, but the convention hall has remained a subject of scrutiny.

The commissioner's statement confirms that Nagarjuna's convention hall will face action, likely including the seizure of the land and the demolition of the illegally constructed buildings.
