Hanu-man producer losing hard-earned profits. Producer K Niranjan Reddy, who recently enjoyed a massive success with the socio-fantasy film "Hanu-man," is currently facing financial setbacks in the Telugu film industry.

Despite the phenomenal success of "Hanu-man," which grossed over ₹200 crore, Reddy's subsequent ventures have not fared as well. "He has lost a significant portion of his earnings from 'Hanu-man' and is now playing it safe," shared a distributor. "His last production, 'Darling' starring Priyadarshi, was a box office disappointment, causing him a loss of ₹3 to 4 crores."

The situation worsened with the acquisition of distribution rights for "Double iSmart," starring Ram Pothineni and directed by Puri Jagannadh. While the film aimed to replicate the success of "Ismart Shankar," it fell short of expectations. "The film has been a disaster, potentially costing him ₹10 to 12 crores if it fails to pick up in collections," the distributor added.

Reddy, an NRI who also owns theatres in the Rayalaseema region, is known for his bold ventures. He invested a substantial ₹40 crore in "Hanu-man," backing director Prashanth Varma's vision and launching new actor Sajja Tejja. The film's success showcased his risk-taking approach and proved to be a lucrative gamble.

However, the recent box office struggles have prompted Reddy to adopt a more cautious approach. He is currently planning a Hindi film based on "Lord Ram" and has registered the title "Om Jai Shri Ram." The project is in the early stages, with Reddy searching for the right director and team to bring his vision to life.

While Reddy is undoubtedly facing a challenging period, his unwavering passion for film and his successful track record suggest that he will overcome these setbacks and continue to be a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry.
