Salman feels down when his films do not cross Rs 300crs,Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, known for his diverse filmography, has opened up about his preference for smaller-scale films, revealing the pressure associated with the box office expectations that come with working with superstars like Salman Khan.

While promoting his upcoming film "Vedaa," which releases on August 15th, Advani spoke about his relationship with Salman, with whom he collaborated on "Salaam-e-Ishq" and "Hero." He shared that Salman, known for consistently delivering blockbusters, carries a heavy burden when it comes to box office performance. "Salman Khan's films have to make Rs 300 crore," Advani revealed. "If his film collects less than Rs 300 crore, then he feels really bad. It has to be that big. I do not want that burden. I want to sleep well at night. I do not want to carry the burden of making that Rs 300 crore film. I want to make films that I want to."

Despite his preference for smaller-scale projects, Advani holds Salman in high regard, calling him his "messiah" and highlighting his unwavering support for those in need. "There is that option of, ‘In case of emergency, please call,’ that is what Salman is for me on my contact list," Advani said. "I know he will leave everything and come. Even if he is doing the biggest action scene, if someone calls him, he will say, ‘I will go, this person is in trouble.’"

While acknowledging Salman's immense contribution to the industry, Advani reiterates his preference for films that allow him to explore his creative vision without the pressure of massive box office targets. "He is the messiah of the industry," he concluded, "But I don’t want to have that stress of ₹300-400 crore. If it happens, great, but I don’t want that stress."

Advani's upcoming film "Vedaa" stars John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh in leading roles, with Abhishek Bannerjee and Tamannaah Bhatia also featuring in prominent roles. The film, which promises to be an action-packed thriller, is set to hit theaters on India's Independence Day.
