A couple of days back we had reported that Lal Salaam, the Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial sports drama film starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles might skip the Pongal release as announced earlier. The film which has Superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo role is scheduled to release in theaters on the occasion of Pongal, next year.
Though an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited, Lyca Productions house which is bankrolling the film yesterday announced that their yet another production venture, Mission: Chapter 1 starring Arun Vijay in the lead role is ready to hit the screens during Pongal season. Directed by AL Vijay, the film is said to be an actioner. It is quite impossible for the two films from the same production house to release in the same season because the adjustment of the screens during the festival season is an impossible task for the makers, Lyca Productions house has indirectly hinted that Lal Salaam is postponed indefinitely.
Earlier, the makers of Lal Salaam are opting for a Pongal release with even Superstar Rajinikanth releasing a special video of the film coming on time on his official X handle. Moreover, major Telugu releases are also eyeing the Sankranthi date including Ravi Teja’s Eagle and Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, considering all these films, postponement is on the cards.
The film which is a sports drama has Vishnu Vishal in the leading role with Vikranth playing a leading character alongside him. The film also has a special cameo appearance by Indian cricketing legend Kapil Dev.
