SRK recalls his threat calls. Shah Rukh Khan is currently on a high scoring blockbusters with films like Pathaan and Jawan. Shah Rukh Khan, a Bollywood icon celebrated not only for his generosity, wisdom, and charisma but also for his fearlessness in the face of danger. During a time when the underworld held considerable influence over the film industry and its actors, SRK was reigning supreme. Although that era has long passed, it's worth noting that King Khan was recently provided with Y+ security cover by the Maharashtra government due to ongoing threats to his life.

An old interview featuring SRK and comedian-actor Ruby Wax has resurfaced, going viral on social media. In the clip, Shah Rukh Khan candidly discusses the threats he faced during the 1990s.

He reveals, "They would set up a system, and they would say you do it. I may not have succumbed to it, but then they shoot you. So, sometimes it’s nice to do a film." Wax, clearly taken aback, asks, "You’re seriously saying someone calls you and says be in my film or I’ll blow your head off?" Shah Rukh nods in agreement, adding, "Not as nicely as you’re saying it."

SRK goes on to explain that the film industry was an easy target, given its lucrative nature. When asked if his life was genuinely threatened, he candidly admits, "Oh yes, on many occasions… I had a lot of security for three years."

One of the gangsters who contacted Shah Rukh Khan with threats was Abu Salem, who was evidently displeased that SRK wasn't complying with his demands. Shah Rukh recalled, "He would tell me that he could see me. It was like living under a telescope. It was very depressing and very scary."

Following advice from Mumbai police chief Rakesh Maria, SRK learned to tread carefully when dealing with the underworld. He openly admitted to being terrified during his interactions with these dangerous individuals, saying, "I’m not macho enough to turn around and say that I wasn’t scared of any of these guys. I was s**t scared."

Shah Rukh Khan also recounted a time when he felt trapped in his own house, a sense of claustrophobia that weighed heavily on him. He humorously added, "I got very disturbed. Our house was small, my son was young, and their socks used to smell. It was just claustrophobic."

Nevertheless, SRK found a clever way to respond to the underworld's suggestions about which films he should do. He recalled telling them, "I don’t tell you who to shoot so don’t tell me which film to do." His fearless spirit and unwavering commitment to his craft have certainly made him a legend in the world of Indian cinema.
