Bruce Lee, an enduring Hollywood icon renowned for his action-packed films, has inspired this project. Originally, the script for this biopic spanned an impressive 350 pages, leading to initial considerations of transforming it into a limited series.

However, Ang Lee's unwavering belief in the cinematic grandeur of the story and its action sequences led them to opt for a theatrical release.While specific details about the biopic remain somewhat elusive, we do have confirmation that Mason Lee, under the direction of his own father, will portray the legendary Bruce Lee. Furthermore, Grey, in his remarks, hinted that production is poised to commence once the ongoing strikes conclude.

Sony's 3000 Pictures has sealed a substantial agreement, securing the talents of Oscar-winning director Ang Lee to helm the highly anticipated film "Bruce Lee." In this remarkable production, Mason Lee, the filmmaker's own son, will step into the shoes of the iconic martial artist.

The script for this cinematic endeavor is currently under the creative expertise of Dan Futterman, celebrated for his outstanding work in projects like "Capote" and "Foxcatcher." This script has evolved through the contributions of previous writers, including Jean Castelli, Alex Law, Mabel Cheung, and most recently, Wells Tower.

The esteemed production team comprises Lawrence Grey, Shannon Lee, Ang Lee, Ben Everard, and Brian Bell, all collaborating to bring this project to life. Overseeing the venture on behalf of the studio are Elizabeth Gabler and Marisa Paiva. Remarkably, this project reunites Gabler, Paiva, and Tom Rothman with the director, marking their collaborative return after their successful collaboration on "Life of Pi."
