With the Congress drawing a blank in the just-concluded byelections to 12 seats, party High Command in Delhi is seriously finding something amiss in the state leadership.
Sources close to the High Command indicated that PCC president D Srinivas has already submitted his resignation letter to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi who is likely to sort things out in a couple of days. She is only waiting for the Telangana celebrations to settle down before the party revamping takes place.
Party insiders think Sonia Gandhi is not too keen on K Rosaiah being retained in the post and is looking for a suitable alternative to replace him. She does not want to take this step in a hurry as she feels YS Jaganmohan Reddy is waiting in the wings to capitalise on the situation
The probables who are being considered for the top post include Jana Reddy and Marri Sashidhar Reddy. Others like Geeta Reddy on the outer ring are also being considered. However, Geeta stands a chance in the race, according to political analysts.
Regarding the PCC chief’s post, no final decision has yet been taken against D Srinivas. A more competent person who can get along well with Jagan’s party and all others is being considered to fill in the vacuum.
