Electronic Voting Machines are a real boon not only for the voters but even for the candidates, said Chief Electoral Officer I.V Subba Rao here on Saturday.
The EVMs not only saved voting and counting time but provided accurate results. Referring to the just concluded elections, he said there were 20,000 invalid votes in the five segments where ballot papers were used. The voters were a confused lot because the ballot papers were very long and the voters had to go through a lengthy process to identify the party symbol.
In the segments where the EVMs have been used there were no invalid votes. It’s for the people to make the best use of technology instead of making senseless allegations against the use of EVMs.
