The campaign for the by-election to the 12 segments in Telangana region is getting intensified with important leaders of the parties canvassing for their candidates.
The focus is on PCC chief D Srinivas, who was neither considered for MLC seat nor the Rajya Sabha seat but was asked to contest and win the Assembly seat.
Agaisnt this backdrop Srinivas finds himself being cornered by the opposition parties, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti and the Telugu Desam.
Campaigning vigorously Srinivas said the BJP has a lone MLA in the Assembly after Yendela Lakshminarayana had resigned and with one or two MLAs in the house nothing can be achieved by the party.
He appealed to the pubic in Nizambad urban fro where he is contesting to vote for him so that he can show some development.
`` I have a good access to AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who are at the helm of the affairs at the Centre and I will be able to convince them about separate Telangana”, he added.
Assuring the peole that the Central government will definitely deliver its decision on Telangana soon, he was of the opinion that the Justice Srikrishna Committee was instituted for the very purpose. He likened the committee to a mediator to settle the issues among brothers in a family.
