Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader Vijaya Shanthi on Thursday charged the Congress party government with utilizing the Assembly session as an alibi to focus the Government programmes even during the byelections in the Telangana region.
Vijaya Shanti told reporters the Congress Government has kept the Assembly session going even as the poll code of conduct is in force, so that the Assembly session could be utilized as a platform during the elections.
By conducting the Assembly session without Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders, she said the Chief Minister K Rosaiah and Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas hatched a conspiracy to wrest the seats in elections.
However, the Telangana people would not believe the cheap tricks of Congress and Telugu Desam party leaders, she claimed.
She hoped all Telangana leaders who vacated seats for the cause of Telangana statehood agitation, would elect with thumping majority in the byelections.
She expressed confidence that by the time of elections, all intelligent people in Telangana leaders and osmania University Joint action committee leaders would unite and fight against Congress and TDP.
She asked the Election Commission to keep a tab on the statements and activities of the Congress and Opposition TDP as they resort to illegal methods to win in byelections.
