Slamming the state government for acting against the interests of farmers, Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday saw an unholy  nexus between the dam contractors and the government.

The TDP leader intensified his tirade against the state government on the second day of his tour in the district and alleged the government had failed to construct dams for farmers and this exposed its administrative inefficiency.

Naidu said the Thotapalli reservoir works have not been materialized ten years after the commencement of the project. The government is spending thousands of crores of rupees only to conduct survey works and failed to construct dams for the benefit of farmers.

The government has spent Rs 1100 crore for the surveys and opened the floodgates of corruption, he asserted and lashed out at the government for meagre allocations for irrigation projects.

Blaming the UPA government policies for the prices of essential commodities, Naidu criticized the state government for concentrating on atomic and thermal power projects in Srikakulam district.

The government should take up the opinion of girijans before conducting mining operations in Visakhapatnam and agency areas, he pointed out.

He denied that the TDP has any connection with Rs 7 crore seized in Anantapur district. He said the TDP fielded its candidates in the byelections to 10 seats in Telangana region after collecting the opinion of Telangana leaders only.
