PCC chief remark draws flak

Telangana Rashtra Samiti senior leader Harish Rao on Wednesday criticized the Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas’s statement that Telangana statehood would be real if the voters elect Congress to power in the byelections.

Talking to reporters, the former MLA said the Telangana people would not go by such deceptions by the Congress leaders. The PCC is afraid of losing his security deposit in the byelections, he said.

He questioned the rationality of such statements issued by the PCC chief. The Telangana people have full confidence on the Srikrishna Commission and hoped the Commission would take a favourable stand on the state bufurcation issue.

The PCC president should state what the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh think about the T-state formation.He said the fielding of the PCC chief from Nizamabad constituency is ‘political suicide’ for his career.
