Congress MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy who is in Delhi to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, reiterated that the Odarpu Yatra was to console family members of those who committed suicide or died of shock following the death of his father De Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
Interacting with the media here on Monday, he defended his controversial rally that triggered violence in Mahbubabad and said it was for the sake of his father he has taken the Odarpu Yatra.
"Whatever I'm doing is for my father. I'm sure the Congress president Sonia will understand my point," the Kadapa MP, added.
I would like to make it clear to the senior Congress leaders that this is not a politically motivated tour. Some leaders have misinterpreted this tour as a visit to gain political mileage. That is the reason why I came here to clarify on this issue,’’ Jagan explained.
If any one can establish that during the Odarpu Yatra I have passed any comments either on a political leader or a political party then I will quit from Lok Sabha,’’ the Congress MP threw the challenge.
He said the decision to go on Odarpu Yatra was not taken recently it was taken long back at Pavuralagutta. The Odarpu Yatra will continue at any cost.
