Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday expressed his disgust over the half-hearted implementation of 25 paise interest scheme in the district.Jagan went there as part of the Prajapatham programme, initiated by the state government.
Talking to newsmen, he criticized the officials for not releasing funds allocated under Pavala vaddi scheme to the beneficiaries. When some women members complained to the MP about the scheme, he said the scheme, launched by former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was aimed at providing loan at 3 percent interest per year to encourage rural women to take up small scale businesses.
Public representatives were embarrassed when women complained that they got no loans under the Pavala vaddi scheme. Reiterating that he would mount pressure on the state government to release funds for the scheme, Jagan said he would continue his fight to address the people’s problems.
