Turning down Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekar Rao's offer to contest from Mahabubnagar, PCC president D Srinivas said ``I never take KCR’s words seriously. He made many promises but none of them were feasible and he too would not stand by them.’’
``I am not here for a dialogue or an argument with KCR, I leave this affair to him,’’ DS added.
This offer came in the wake of KCR’s invitation to DS to quit PCC post in protest against the raw deal to him and the unfavourable Terms of Reference(ToR) in the Srikrishna panel.
Defending his act of non-submission of memorandum to the Srikrishna Committee, he said, ``individually, I belong to Telangana and as the head of the party, I cannot put forth my views and submit the mememorandum to the panel..''
``The Congress High command after discussing the issue with all the Congress leaders in the state will draft a report which in turn will be submitted to the panel. Whatever your capacity may be, you should abide by the party’s decisions,’’ DS observed.
Referring to the Assembly by-elections due to the resignation of ten members of TRS and one member each from the TDP and BJP, DS noted, ``it is for the High Command to decide whether I should contest the elections or not.’’
