SHRC seeks CID report on attack on scribes

The State human Rights Commission on Saturday directed the State Government and Crime Investigation Department to submit its report on the attacks on journalists on Osmania University campus by April 28.

Disposing a petition filed by advocate Candrasekhara Rao, the commission chairman Justice Subhashan Reddy also directed the government to submit Press Council of India report before the commission.

The PCI recommended action against Joint Commissioner of City Police P.S.R. Anjaneyulu, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chandra Ladda, Assistant Commissioner K. Ramachandra and Station House Officer B Anjaiah for beating journalists and damaging their equipment in Osmania University here on February 14 and 15.The commission adjourned the case for further hearing on April 29.
