Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas has called upon the party cadre to gear up for next municipal and Ghmc Elections in the State.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas expressed the hope that the Congress Party would win the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections with thumping majority.
Addressing a press conference after a review meeting with the Party MLAs from the city and the surrounding areas at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, the Chief Minister said the party would chalk out a strategy to increase the percentage of votes in the Ghmc Elections.
He claimed the party would definitely get 75 plus out of the 150 divisions in the GHMC as per the present indications.
The party would soon appoint two to three co-ordinators to oversee the Ghmc Elections.
He said the PCC also held a review meeting and discussed the strategy to strengthen the party ahead of the Elections
The Chief Minister said the District Coordinators and local MLAs and MLCs would be held responsible for poor performance in their respective districts in the elections.
The Chief Minister sought information in respect of party’s position in the wards concerned.
