Forty four Telugu Desam Party MLAs were suspended for one day from the Assembly sessions on Tuesday. When the House met for discussions on Tuesday morning, the Tdp MLAs introduced the resolution seeking the lifting of restrictions on media. The Speaker Kirankumar Reddy turned down the request of Tdp MLAs, but the Tdp MLAs insisting that the speaker should take up the issue interrupted the proceedings time and again.
Irked by these unfortunate incidents, Finance Minister Rosaiah introduced a resolution seeking the suspension 44 Tdp MLAs for three days from the Assembly. In response the Speaker suspended these MLAs for one day. The suspended MLAs raising the slogans ``Save Democracy’’ staged a protest in front of the Speaker’s podium.
Meanwhile the live coverage of the assembly proceedings were held up till the suspended MLAs who thronged to the speaker’s podium left the house.]
The suspended MLAs after being forced out of the assembly staged a dharna in front of the Speaker’s chambers. Later after coming out from the assembly precincts they held a dharna at Gun Park, shouting slogans a gainst the Government.
Reventher Reddy, a leader of the Tdp speaking on the occasion said `` how far is it justifiable to suspend an MLA who was not present in the assembly today. ‘’ He further lamented that the Government is not in a position tolerate if you raise any question in the assembly.
The left parties condemned the decision of the Speaker to suspend the Tdp MLAs on Tuesday. Resenting the act of Speaker, the Left parties staged a walk out from the assembly.
