Admitting a petition filed  by four  students against the presence of  para-military forces on the  Osmania  Uiversity campus, the High Court on Monday  ordered the removal of police forces from the campus.

In its orders, the court stated that unless the University authorities ask for police protection, the Government has no right to deploy forces on the campus. All the security arrangements should be under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police, the court observed. The police have no right to enter the  hostels and use force against the inmates, the court order added.
