Telangana TDP senior leader and former MLA Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy has strongly objected to the tour of senior officials to Australia, Brazil and South Africa to study Panchayat Raj system.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Chandrashekhar Reddy said that the study tour to foreign countries to learn about Panchayat Raj system was highly ridiculous. He said there was a huge difference between the democracies of India and other countries. He said there were no similarities in the Constitutions of those countries and India. Therefore, he said the proposed foreign tour of Telangana officials was nothing but waste of public money.
The TDP leader advised the State Government to cancel the foreign tour. Instead, he said the officials could be sent to any State in India to study effective implementation of Panchayat Raj system. He said Kerela would be an ideal State for the visit.
