Why Babu showing interest on Obalapuram mines?

The Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday stated that there is no need to set up a Housing Committee on allotment of mines in Obalapuram area.Making a statement in the House on Obalapuram mines issue, the Chief Minister said that it’s a dispute between two mining companies and there is no need to set up a Housing Committee to probe into the issue.He said that earlier the government had sent all-party leaders to look into the issue. The leaders opined that the government had allotted all mines properly and there are no irregularities reported on the issue.

He asked the Opposition party leader N Chandrababu Naidu why he is showing more interest on the issue. The Chief Minister said the mines were leased during the previous TDP regime and now they are raising this issue unnecessarily to get political mileage. He said the TDP government has not renewed the mining lease of Gali Janardhana Reddy. When he approached the High Court, it directed the government to renew the lease of Gali Janardhana Reddy. The Government only renewed the lease of Janardhana Reddy only, he explained.
