Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Thursday said that the crime rate has gone down in the state since the state formation.

Speaking at the annual review meeting of the police department here, Anurag Sharma said that cyber crimes in the state have considerably gone down. He said that the department was imparting training to the police personnel to imbibe confidence.

The police chief said that as many as 210 cases have been cracked through community CCTV surveillance. He said that about 221 She Teams were working in the state bringing crimes against women considerably down. As many as 2,733 people were counseled in 371 cases by She Teams.

The DGP said that as many as 49 cases of counterfeit currency were reported this year as against 38 last year.

Anurag Sharma said that the women were being provided 33 % quota in the police recruitment. He said that the police recruitment was being done based on the new exam pattern.

The DGP assured that the issues of Home Guards would be solved soon. The DGP said that the government was giving Rs 20 lakh to the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. He said that Hawk Eye police app has received national awards for better policing methods.
