CPI (M) State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram on Wednesday slammed the TRS government saying that it had forgotten the promises it made during the Assembly elections.

Speaking at a programme as part of the party’s Mahajana Padayatra in Gollapalli, Veerabhadram said that the TRS government failed to fulfill majority of poll promises. He said that the KCR Government failed to provide even the basic amenities in villages and for people from backward classes. He said that migrations to cities have increased as the state government failed to develop villages and backward regions.

The CPM leader slammed the TRS government for amending land acquisition laws saying that it was trying to forcibly take farm lands in the name of constructing projects. He said that KCR came to power by riding on people’s movement but ditched the poor after assuming the power.

He took strong objections to the KCR’s criticism of Left parties. The CPM leader said that the Left parties enjoy the support of masses and the masses and vowed to fight for the rights of marginalized sections.

Earlier former Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar, Jagtial Municipal Council chief Vijayalakshmi and others extended support to the CPM’s padayatra.
