Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Tuesday slammed AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu saying that he was responsible for the Demonetization of high value currency notes. He said that the TD chief had pushed Prime Minister Narendra Modi into Demonetization in the name of fighting black money.
Speaking to media persons here, Hanumantha Rao said that the Modi Government would meet the fate of Vajpayee government who faced defeat after falling prey to Chandrababu’s advice to go for early polls after the Alipiri incident in which Chandrababu had a miraculous escape. Naidu is known to mislead people, he said.
Coming down heavily on the Centre for the Demonetization policy, the Congress leader said that the poor and the middle class is bearing the brunt of the wrong policies of the Centre. He found fault with TS Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao saying that he was supporting the Demonetization policy and questioned KCR if he had no black money. He took a dig at KCR for saying that the people should be careful about spending money. The CM is advising people to spend carefully but is indulging in wasteful expenditure. Why did KCR built a lavish house when he already had one, the former MP questioned. He demanded the state government to fulfill its poll promise of double bed room houses to the poor.
Hanumantha Rao said that it was strange that the TRS cadre was crediting Telangana formation to KCR when actually it was the Congress government at the Centre that granted statehood to Telangana.
