Expressing displeasure at the Centre’s decision not to increase the Assembly seats in Telangana and AP, TRS MP B. Vinod Kumar on Friday said that the AP Reorganization Act was in favor of delimitation in the new states.
Speaking to media person, Vinod Kumar said that the according to section 26 of the AP Reorganization Act, the number of Assembly seats in Telangana can go by 153 and demanded the Centre to take up the delimitation process. He said that the exercise does not need any constitutional amendment as claimed by the Home Ministry. The TRS MP also said that under Article 4, the new state can get additional number of Assembly seats and hoped that the Centre will look into the issue again.
It may be recalled that Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir had informed that the delimitation cannot be taken up in AP and Telangana until 2026.
TRS not to support bandh on Nov 28
TRS MP B Vinod Kumar said that the TRS party would not support the bandh call given by Opposition parties to protest demonetization policy of the Centre on November 28. The TRS MP slammed both ruling BJP and Opposition Congress at the Centre saying that the two parties were not ready to debate on the issue. Opposition parties have called for a nation-wide bandh on November 28 to protest demonetization.
