Hyderabad, Jan 13: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) senior leader B Vinod on Wednesday criticized the state government for not supplying the gas produced from Krishna-Godavari basin to the proposed gas-based 700 mw power project in Karimnagar district.Talking to media, he said, instead of supplying low-priced KG basin gas, the government has decided to supply highly-priced liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the project.

The power generation using LNG would prove to be unviable, he pointed out.The state government by allotting KG basin gas to industries and power projects in the Andhra region, once again it cheated the Telangana people, he charged.Seeking the supply of KG basin gas for the proposed gas based power project, he urged the government to lay a pipeline for transporting gas to Telangana districts.
