The water level in Godavari is alarmingly rising and it reached 51.04 feet level on Tuesday morning.
If the water level rises to 53 feet, a third warning alert will be announced. Khammam district officials have deployed four boats and a half a dozen swimmers along the banks.
Second level warning alert was already issued at Bhadrachalam and first warning alert was issued at Dhavaleshwaram barrage on Tuesday morning. Heavy rains inundated several villages disrupting the public life. Transport facilities between Bhadrachalam and Venkatapuram and Dummugudem disrupted. Vagedu, Charla, Venkatapuram, Turubaka and Regupalli villages have been submerged.
About 28 villages have been cut off other parts of the state after heavy rains and floods hit East Godavari. The district officials are unable to communicate with 28 villages, but making arrangements to evacuate those affected.
