Hyderabad, Jan 8: The State government on Friday ordered a Crime Investigation Department probe into a report of TV 5 channel, which beamed a news alleging that Reliance Group owned by the Ambanis were behind the death of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a chopper crash.The CID team comprising Banjara Hills Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravinder Reddy and CID Deputy Superintendent of Police Tulasi Ram Reddy on Friday visited the TV-5 channel office on Jubilee Hills here to collect the footage details of the controversial news telecast by the channel.
The CID team will also probe the violence that broke out across the state after the telecast of the news item by the channel. The Jubilee Hills police have registered a case against the TV channel in this connection.The police have registered altogether 108 cases and arrested 180 people across the state in connection with the violence that erupted after the programme was beamed.
