The much awaited All Party Meeting attended by 8 parties from Andhra Pradesh at New Delhi has been completed just now and the result is the same with no breakthrough achieved on Telangana issue except an appeal from all leaders to restore peace and tranquility in the State.
Leaders of all 8 parties have expressed their views on Telangana and the states turmoil conditions. Stands of various parties at the meet:
TRS, BJP & CPI – No necessity of consultations and declare a time frame for completion of the whole process to declare that Telangana state is formed.
TDP & Congress – One leader from each for United Andhra Pradesh or Jai Andhra while the other for declaration of Telangana state with in a time frame. So, a divided verdict. An idea for formation of a committee to work on Telangana problem.
PRP & CPM – For ‘United Andhra Pradesh’ or to go with verdict on Linguistic states.
MIM – No clear cut verdict and expressed the necessity to impose President’s rule in the state.
Chidambaram and Roshaiah have left the venue without speaking to the media. There was an opinion expressed by the parties that, a final statement which summarizes the highlights of the meeting will be released by Chidambaram today evening after his consultation with PM.
