Nagam attacker identified as lawyer

Hyderabad, Dec 25: The police on Friday identified one of the attackers who thrashed Nagarkurnool Telugu Desam MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy, on Thursday on Osmania University campus.The identified persons who slippered Nagam janrdhan Reddys and chased him out of the Osmania University campus was identified as Rajiv Reddy, an advocate in LB Nagar court here.Rajiv Reddy attacked the TDP leader near Arts College when he came along with his party colleagues to express their sympathies with the students who were injured in police lathicharge hours before.

Osmania University police booked a case against Rajiv Reddy.The State Government ordered a CID probe into the incident.Earlier, Srikanth Raju, who claimed to be a former activist of Nava Telangana Party is a native of Nalgonda district, admitted he took part in the attack in retaliation to Nagam’s comments against Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhara Rao. Raju was also angered by TDP’s ambiguous stand on the Telangana issue.
