Film Star and Founder President Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan on Friday called upon the Telugu Desam Government to exempt the villages of Undavalli, Bethampudi and Penubaka from inclusion in the proposed capital zone of Andhra Pradesh State.

Addressing a media conference Pawan Kalyan, in a rebuttal of sorts to the reaction of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders, stuck t his guns about being opposed to forcibly acquire fertile lands from farmers for building the news capital of the state. He wanted the small farmers to be spared from the land pooling scheme. I am against acquiring the lands with duress and force. Take the consent of the farmers and if need be try to convince them. Constitute a committee to discuss the same with the farmers and then only procure the lands, he pointed out.

Pawan Kalyan said  he had tour the proposed capital region of the state in understand the problems of the farmers and ascertain as to why they were reluctant to part with their lands for building the capital. He made it clear his tour of the villages was not to create any hurdles or problems for Chandrababu Naidu and his government. I want Chandrababu Naidu to stay in power till 2014. But who will come to rescue of the farmers who have parted with their lands after a new government comes into force later. There is no legal sanctity or protection to the farmers, he pointed out.

Stating that many famers who gave away their lands were having their own apprehensions about their future as there is no legal protection, Pawan Kalyan said that when this be the case one should understand the anxiety and concern of the farmers of the three villages who are all small farmers with little lands and dependent on them for their livelihood , he pointed out.

The Jana Sena Chief wondered how the YTDP government with no funds would build a world class capital. I am not against building a good capital but am stoutly opposed to destroying the villages in the name of development.

Training his guns at the BJP and its leadership in the central government, Pawan Kalyan regretted that  the promises of granting a special status to AP,  special financial package etc were not yet fulfilled as promises in parliament at the time of bifurcating the undivided AP. How can the people trust BJP when it cannot keep up its promise and how can the party under these circumstances wants to make its foray into the state, he wondered.

The Jana Sena Chief also had a dig at the erstwhile YSR regime by stating that the then government had acquired the lands from the farmers to be only handed over to big companies. How can one forget how the then YSR regime had handover vast lands belonging to the farmers to Vanpic, he observed and cautioned the TDP Government to not to commit such illegal acts.

Pawan Kalyan also lashed out the MPs from the state in not taking up appropriately with the central government in ensuring the special status and required financial assistance. The MPs should irrespective of their political affiliations should unitedly fight with the central government and make it fulfil all its promises, he observed.
