Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar on Tuesday made it clear that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi would not have an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Speaking to media persons in TRS Legislature Party office here, Koppula said that the proximity of some TRS leaders with the BJP should not be viewed as party's future plans to join hands with the BJP. He said that the TRS Government was getting closer to the BJP Government at the Centre only to get more funds and sops for Telangana State. He maintained that the TRS has no plans to join the BJP-led NDA alliance at the Centre.
Speaking about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's visit to Warangal, Koppula said that neither the TDP chief nor common people would gain anything out of the proposed tour. He said so far Naidu did not speak anything in favour of Telangana and he has working only in the interest of Andhra Pradesh State. He said that the TDP leaders have no moral right to speak anything about Telangana as their party has opposed its formation on multiple occasions. Further, Naidu has been creating obstacles in the development of Telangana State.
Koppula also congratulated Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal for registering historic victory in Delhi elections. He said by voting in favour of AAP, the people of Delhi have rejected all corrupt leaders and parties. He said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao too have waged a war against corruption and the TRS Government has adopted a policy to complete discourage and eliminate political corruption in the State.
He also claimed that the party's membership drive, launched on February 3, has been getting tremendous response from the people.
