New Delhi, Dec 11:Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday hinted that Telangana will not become the 29th state of India so soon as people expect.Addressing a delegation of MPs from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, the PM assured that the decision on bifurcating Andhra Pradesh to create Telangana state will not be taken in haste.The Andhra MPs who met the Prime Minister in Parliament told him that a resolution on the Telangana issue is not feasible. They also updated Manmohan Singh on mass resignation of MLAs in the state Assembly in protest against the move to create Telangana.
The PM gave a patient hearing to the MPs and promised them that the Congress Core Committee will look into the entire issue.MM Pallam Raju Minister of State for Defence said "We have apprised the Prime Minister of sentiments of people of Rayalseema and Andhra region who want a united Andhra Pradesh.’’"It is believed that the decision taken by the Centre was after an all-party meeting which indicated that they would support a resolution on Telangana. But resignations by MLAs and MPs cutting across party lines indicate that there is no support for Telangana," explained Raju.
