Hyderabad, July 31 :-
Veteran Telugu film actor and former Union minister U.V. Krishnam Raju resigned from the Praja Rajyam Party on Friday. He sent his resignation letter to the party office in the morning.
Quoting the reasons for his exit from the party he said ``The PRP did not use me properly in the party, though I was given a good party post. I felt that I was in no way useful to the party so I resigned. Actually I thought of resigning from the party right after elections but I restrained my self.’’
`` After holding discussions with my supporters I will decide the future course of action,’’ he further added.
Krishnam Raju, who represented Narsapur Lok Sabha seat in West Godavari district, was minister of state for external affairs in the Bjp-led government from 2000 to 2004. He, however, lost the 2004 elections from the same constituency. In 2009 he contested the Lok Sabha polls from Rajahmundry on PRP ticket and lost.
Meanwhile, PRP chief Chiranjeevi when contacted said that he had no official information about the resifnation of Krsihnam Raju.
