YSRCP demands dismissal of Chandrababu govt

Squarely blaming the Government for its failure to conduct the MPP and ZPP Chairman elections in a peaceful manner, YSR Congress party today demanded the dismissal of the Chandrababu Naidu Government and imposition of the President’s rule.

Addressing media persons here, Party senior leader Dr. MV Mysura Reddy demanded immediate elections to the Nellore and Prakasam ZPP chairman posts. “Or else, a party delegation will soon meet the President Pranab Mukherjee with a request to dismiss the TDP Government of AP as it acted in a manner reminiscent of fascist rule during the conduct of the MPP and ZPP chairman elections,” he said.

District collectors and police officials remained mute spectators while TDP MLAs and MPs have barged into the election rooms and resorted to illegalities to influence voting, he said, adding that the Government failed to conduct the elections in an impartial manner.

“The ruling party has resorted to illegalities by unduly influencing the official machinery and trying to buy the YSRCP members with its money power and playing an open fraud on democracy. This Government has no moral right to continue even for a single minute and it deserves an instant dismissal,” he said.

Saying that TDP tried to suppress the voice of the opposition party in the just concluded municipal and local body chairman elections,  Dr Mysura Reddy said the TDP Government had drawn sadistic pleasure by kidnapping YSRCP members and conducting camps with a scant respect for the process of democracy.

“As in Municipal chairmen and mayoral elections, the Government resorted to illegalities in Kurnool, Prakasam and Nellore ZPPC elections with a view to stop the elections,” party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said.

TDP MLAs demanded secret voting and created a wave of terror by forcing the officials to erect iron fencing in the ZPPC elections in some places in an unprecedented manner, she fumed.

Calling it black day for democracy, she said TDP tried to suppress the voice of majority YSRCP members.” For its failure to implement the waiver of farm loan promise, the TDP Government is now trying to sidetrack the issue and divert the attention of the people by creating terror in the elections.”
