TRS Govt to continue Arogyasri, 108 schemes

Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah has informed that the Telangana Government would continue the Arogyasri health insurance scheme besides strengthening the 108 Emergency services.

Speaking to media persons here, Rajaiah, who also holds the Medical and Health portfolio, informed that the Arogyasri schemes would be strengthened further and all corporate hospitals would be asked to implement the scheme. He warned of action if the corporate hospitals refuse to implement the scheme.

Rajaiah also announced that the TRS Government would revive the lost glory of Osmania General Hospital and Gandhi Hospital too would be upgraded. He said thousands of poor patients visit both the public hospitals and steps would be taken to improve the facilities on par with corporate hospitals. He said prevention of seasonal diseases would be the priority in view of monsoon which would hit the State this month.

The Deputy CM also appealed to the doctors to agree to work in rural areas and village in the interest of poor patients. He assured that the TRS Government would fulfill its promise of providing medical facilities to every household in Telangana State. He said that the Medical Council of India (MCI) is being approached for increase in seats and approval for new medical colleges in Telangana.

Rajaih also assured that the TRS Government would provide 12 per cent reservation to Muslims in education and jobs, as promised by the party during elections.
