Hyderabad,Nov 23: The ruling Congress was resorting to all kinds of malpractices to win over the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections,alleged Telugu Desam Politburo member Yerram Naidu and senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy.Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, the leaders alleged that the Congress leaders were violating the model code of conduct in order to lure the voters with money and liquor.The Congress leaders have sacrificed the democratic ethics to lure voters with money and paying Rs 1,000 per vote in some areas.
Many Congress activists were resorting to violence and attacking TDP workers for fear of losing the elections and out of desperation.the TDP leaders alleged.The TDP would complain to the Election Commission with regard to the attacks on TDP leaders.They also expressed concern over the missing of 600 voters names from the Balkampet area,represented by Chief Minister K Rosaiah.If the government failed to conduct fair elections in the state capital,you can imagine the fate of elections in rural areas,they exclaimed.
