Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Monday informed that the note on the proposal to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana would be presented before the Union Cabinet in the next 20 days.
Talking to reporters here, Shinde said that a note was being prepared by the Union Home Ministry which would facilitate the cabinet to pass a resolution recommending bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. However, the note would be first sent to the Law Ministry for legal opinion.
Once Telangana formation gets approval of Union Cabinet, the Centre will constitute a Group of Ministers to study and suggest measures to carve out Telangana. The GoM's report would then be presented in the Union Cabinet for approval and a resolution would be drafted which would be discussed and passed in the Legislative Assembly. After passing through other constitutional processes, the Telangana Bill will be presented in the Parliament.
