Statehood agitation will continue till T-formation: TRS

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao on Saturday said that the statehood agitation would continue till the formation of Telangana State.

Addressing the Shanti Deeksha of Telangana Doctors at Gandhi Hospital here, Harish Rao said that the TRS was closely watching the developments on the statehood issue. However, he said that the TRS would react at an appropriate time. He said that the final test of Congress party's sincerity on Telangana would be judged when the Telangana Bill gets introduced in Parliament.

Harish Rao condemned the proposal of Union Minister K Chiranjeevi on making Hyderabad a Union Territory. He said that any permanent change in the status of Hyderabad was not acceptable to the people of Telangana region. He allayed fears that Seemandhra people were not safe in Hyderabad. He said people from all the regions could live peacefully and grow in the Telangana State. He asked Chiranjeevi not to spread hatred by issuing provocative and divisive statements.
