Rajya Sabha MP Palwai Govardhan Reddy on Saturday reiterated that Hyderabad would remain the capital of Telangana State and any change in its status would not be accepted.
Talking to reporters here, Palwai said that the Telangana leaders were willing to share Hyderabad as a joint capital with Andhra Pradesh for a brief period. However, sharing Hyderabad on permanent basis was not acceptable to the people of Telangana region. He also said that there should be no problem if Union Government handles law and order of Hyderabad for a brief period.
Palwai alleged that the leaders from Seemandhra region have shifted the resources of Telangana region in the last many decades and were now opposing the State's bifurcation to protect their selfish interests.
