State Bjp president G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday gave the credit of recent developments on Telangana to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Talking to reporters at the State Bjp headquarters at Nampally here, Kishan Reddy said that the Congress High Command took active interest in the Telangana issue after Narender Modi announced his tour to Hyderabad on August 11. He said that the Congress part was afraid of Modi's visit to Hyderabad and therefore, took active steps to resolve Telangana issue.
However, Kishan Reddy warned the Congress against cheating the people of the region on the statehood issue. He also ruled out the possibilities of Rayala-Telangana and said that the proposal was originally mooted by Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. Further, he said that Hyderabad as the joint capital of two State was also not acceptable.
Kishan Reddy demanded that the Centre should introduce Telangana Bill in the ensuing session of Parliament.
