Khammam,Nov 10: The Government should take the responsibility of supplying ores and mines in the country to public sector companies,suggested Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana.Talking to media persons on the concluding day deliberations of the three-day State Council meeting here on Tuesday, he appealed to the government to supply iron ore from the Obulapuram in Anantapur district bordering Karnataka to the public sector Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.He alleged that the Gali brothers in the border district earned thousands of crores of rupees on mining business and attempted to control affairs in the BJP Government in Karnataka.As the Gali brothers are exporting iron ore from Krishnapatnam port to foreign countries,he urged the government to take steps to prevent exporting ore from the port.He said the Cpi would block all roads leading to Krishnapatnam Port from Obulapuram if the ore is not supplied to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by November 16.
He also urged the government to launch a drive against politician-mafia nexus in the allotment of mines in the state.He alleged that the government failed to control the prices of essential commodities and in preventing dengue, malaria and viral fevers in the Agency.He said the Arogyasri health insurance scheme would not help the people as claimed by the government.The government should allot special funds to deal with the situation, he added.If the government failed to curb spiraling prices, the Cpi would conduct raids on hoarders to check prices of essentials,he warned.The Cpi would launch a survey from Nov 20 to Nov 24 to identify the people’s problems.Later,it would launch agitations at all mandal and district headquarters on Nov 30 to press their problems.The Cpi would observe its formation day on Dec 26 by hoisting party flags at all district and mandal headquarters.
