Aarogyasri: Will not yield to pressure

Minister for Medical and Health, Kondru Murali on Thursday said that corporate hospitals have benefitted a lot from Aarogyasri scheme and the government will not yield to the pressure of such high-profile hospitals.

“We will not yield to pressure tactics of private hospitals. Most funds were channeled to private hospitals under the Aarogyasri scheme and they cannot blackmail the government,” he said.

Private hospitals have demanded to increase the tariff failing which they will not encourage the scheme, he said.

Government has invited private hospital representatives for talks to sort out the issue. The government wants to implement the scheme more effectively while the hospitals are demanding more funds.
