TDP MLA defies whip; discussion on No Trust Vote allowed

Speaker N Manohar has allowed the no confidence motion against the Andhra Pradesh cabinet moved by TRS floor leader Etela Rajendra as more than one-tenth of the total strength of the 294-memebr house stood in favour of the motion.

The motion, moved under rule 75, said that the house has no confidence in the cabinet of ministers. The one line motion was supported by Ysrcp, BJ, TRS, CPI, CPM and an independent extended support to the motion.

TDP MLA Harishwar Reddy defied the whip and stood with in support of the no trust vote.

Immediately after admitting the motion, a special Business Advisory Meeting (BAC) was convened to discuss the proceedings of the no trust vote.

Though the Opposition parties said that the motion can be discussed after the important issues, Speaker ruled it out and said when the cabinet is facing a no confidence motion, any other business cannot be transacted unless it is cleared.
