Shiva Kumar, the prime accused in the murder case of Osmania University student Aruna, was remanded to 14-day judicial remand after he was produced before a court by the City Police on Saturday.
Shiva Kumar, who attempted suicide near Pune by jumping from a running train while being brought back to Hyderabad by the police on January 4, was shifted to Hyderabad this morning by the Chatrinaka Police. The doctors had amputated his right hand and left leg as they were badly damaged after he jumped off the train.
Shiva Kumar allegedly strangled Aruna to death on December 31 when she visited his residence at Chatrinkaka. He, along with his brother and a friend, tried in vain to dispose off the body. Later, he went absconding and was traced in Mumbai by the police. However, he tried to commit suicide by jumping off a running train near Pune.
After producing Shiva before the court, the police shifted him to Chanchalguda Jail on court's directions.
