Shankar Rao not arrested say police

The issue of Shankar Rao is snowballing into a major controversy though the police are trying to hush up the issue saying that there was no arrest and he was only taken into custody for questioning while there was a spate of protests and complaints against the government and police.

DGP Dinesh Reddy held meeting with the concerned officials and took stock of the situation.  Malkhajgiri DCP said that he was only taken into custody to question him in the Green Fields land case.

PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana said that the arrest was unfortunate.

However, Dr P Shankar Rao is a known critic of Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and wanted to file a case against her son. The matter was swept under the carpet then.

Shankar Rao, known for his open talk, was given the ministerial berth and later dropped.

He was the person who wrote a letter to the High Court to probe into the disproportionate assets case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and opened up what is now called as the 26 GOs case.
