Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana has claimed that the results of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections prove the growing popularity of Congress party in the country.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Botsa said that although the Congress party lost the Gujarat polls, but it won two additional seats compared to 2007 elections. Similarly, the Congress party has returned to power in Himachal Pradesh. He said these results clearly show that the party has been gaining ground across the country and the pro-people measures being taken by the Centre were being endorsed by the people.
Botsa said that the people across the country have acknowledged the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He said that the Congress party was able to increase its share of votes in the Gujarat polls by a large extent.
