Hyderabad,Oct 27: Brother of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Kadapa Lok Sabha member Y S Vivekananda Reddy on Tuesday met the Chief Minister, K Rosaiah, in his chambers and they discussed the latest political scenario in the state.Talking to media persons on their discussions, Vivekananda Reddy said that they discussed about the byelections to the Pulivendula assembly constituency, represented by late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, to be held in third week of December. He said the high command would decide on fielding right candidate for the byelection of Pulivendula constituency after consulting the state leadership.
The meeting assumed significance as the Congress leaders of the state are waiting anxiously to see whether the Congress president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, allows the Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, to contest from Pulivendula in the coming bypoll or whether she persuades the late Ysr’s wife, Ms Vijayalakshmi, or his daughter, Mrs Sharmila Reddy, to enter the electoral arena.Pulivendula had elected Ysr six times and if Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, his son, is fielded from there, it would be a green signal from the party high command for his wish to have a role in a state politics.
But if Mrs Gandhi does not want Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to enter state politics as of now, she may prefer fielding Ms Vijayalakshmi Ms Sharmila Reddy if they oblige.“My political future and the course of my career will be decided by Madam Sonia Gandhi, but my intention is to remain in state politics,” Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said a day after meeting Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.
