The Telugu Desam Party on Thursday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy immediately sack seven tainted ministers against whom the cases of corruption are pending in the courts.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP Leaders Kadiam Srihari and spokesperson M Narasimhulu demanded that the Chief Minister either suspend the tainted ministers or they themselves tender their resignations owing moral responsibility. They also slammed the Minister for Secondary Education K Parthasarathi for sticking to his post although he has been convicted by a Special Court for Economic Offences in a FERA violations case.
The TDP leaders alleged that the Minister kept the Election Commission in dark by filing wrong affidavit before it in 2009. As per the elections norms the minister would have no right to take part in the election up to six years as he has failed to comply with the Election Commission's norms. They said that they would meet Governor ESL Narsimhan soon seeking action against the minister.
They also demanded the resignation of Law Minister Erasu Partap Reddy as allegations have surfaced against him in cash-for-bail case of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy.
