YSR Congress to vote for Pranab in Presidential polls

The Ysr Congress Party on Wednesday decided to support the candidature of UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee for the Presidential elections.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of YSRCP meeting chaired by honorary president Y S Vijayamma at party office, Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said that the party has unanimously decided to support the candidature of Pranab Mukherjee as there were only two options available. He said that Pranab Mukherjee would do justice and bring laurels to his post with his vast experience in the political field.

Responding to the decision of Telugu Desam party to abstain from voting of Presidential elections, he said that it was the decision of Telugu Desam and YSRCP has nothing to do with it. He said that abstaining from the Presidential elections would be against the spirit of democracy.

Rajamohan Reddy said that the party has also took a decision to support the candidature of Hamid Ansari as Vice president of India.
